How To Make Mutton Dehati #Bihari Mutton Recipe

Mutton Dehati I Origin Story:
Bihari Mutton Curry or "Mutton Dehati", a must in home recipe for every Indian. This recipe show the taste from Bihar, which will never be left from your tongue. Its a perfect combination of spices and Mutton pieces cooked in pressure cooker, making the flavor to evolve within the Mutton. Mutton is a good source of Vitamins and Minerals, it is richer in iron than chicken and fish dishes. Being rich in High quality protein this recipe can be an excellent component of healthy diet.

Mutton Dehati I Bihari Mutton Curry Recipe:
Before you Start, Must Have Ingredients:
  1. Mutton – 750 grams (Front Leg, Neck and chest Pieces)
  2. Onion – 400 grams (Chopped)
  3. Tomato- 1 Chopped
  4. Ginger – 1 inch piece (Chopped)
  5. Fresh Lemon- 1/2 Piece
  6. Garlic – 8 cloves (Chopped)
  7. Cumin seeds – 1 and ½ tablespoon
  8. Green Chilies- 8 nos  (Chopped)
  9. Red chilies – 6 nos
  10. Bay leaves – 3 nos
  11. Mustard oil – ½ cup
  12. Cardamom – 3-4
  13. Black Cardamon - 4 nos
  14. Turmeric powder – ½ tablespoon
  15. Salt to taste.
  16. Everest Mutton Masala 5 grams
  17. Coriander Leaves  (Chopped)

Preparation:
  1. Wash Mutton, rinse and keep it aside in a bowl. Marinate it with lemon, salt, Everest Mutton Masala an Turmeric powder.
  2. Take 200 gm chopped onions, 4 Green Cardamon, 4 Black Cardamon, and 6 green chilies in mixture jar, and mix them smooth.
  3. Pour 1/2 cup Mustard oil in a 3ltr Pressure cooker, heat it in mid flame, put cumin seed, 3 bay-leaves, and fry them till their aroma come out.
  4. Now put 200 gram Chopped onions and fry them till golden brown, then put chopped garlic, green chilies and ginger. Fry them all together in low flame for 5 min. now put the mixture mix in it and fry it for 10 min.
  5. Now put the marinated Mutton pieces in pressure cooker slowly, and mix with the gravy in low flame, half close the cooker for 5 min and let the meat mix properly in gravy.
  6. Add chopped tomato, Coriander leaves, water and salt to taste in cooker. Mix all the ingredients properly.
  7. Now cover the pressure cooker with the lid an cook mutton till 4 whistles on low flame. After the whistles check the mutton is well cooked or not.
  8. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it hot with Rice/Litti or Chapatis.
